This role acts as a primary catalyst for growth, responsible for investigating the viability of new technologies through proactive prototyping, experimentation, and research. The successful incumbent will drive transformative technological initiatives and champion cross-functional creativity, ensuring Harmony maintains its competitive edge and improves organizational efficiencies across our mining operations. Minimum Requirements Applicants must fulfill the following criteria to be considered: Education: Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. Candidates must have direct experience in Business Analysis and Analytics, Business Relationship Management, and Software Development. Industry Profile: Broad technical expertise gained specifically within the Mining industry. Preferred Attributes: A Post Graduate Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, alongside 3 to 5 years of proven management experience inside a large organization. Job Description Summary The Senior IS Manager – Innovation, Research and Development translates business strategies and requirements into actionable research programs and breakthrough implementations. Key responsibilities include: Strategic & Innovation Planning: Contributing to the corporate digital transformation strategy and designing a company-wide innovation roadmap and framework to rapidly evaluate new ideas. Research & Development: Analyzing market disruptions and emerging trends; leading proofs of concept (PoCs) to determine baseline feasibility and managing the creation of business readiness cases. Project Portfolio Management: Owning and executing a portfolio of technology research and development projects, collaborating with core IS functional teams to meet strict cost, scope, and schedule constraints. Stakeholder Engagement: Fostering strategic relationships with Corporate IS and Operational leaders to discover business needs; participating in external industry forums to maintain continuous awareness of the broader technical landscape. People Leadership & Idea Integration: Building and mentoring a competent, productive internal team via Harmony's performance management program, while integrating new modern platforms that allow employees company-wide to share innovative ideas.
