A luxury 5-star boutique hotel on the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Assistant General Manager / Operations to support the General Manager in overseeing the full daily operations of the property. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with strong experience in luxury hotel operations, boutique hotel management, guest experience leadership, and multi-department coordination. This is a highly guest-facing operational leadership role, requiring presence on the floor, strong attention to detail, and the ability to ensure seamless service delivery across all departments including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Spa. Description: The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all daily hotel operations, with a strong focus on delivering a world-class guest experience. You will lead and support the supervisory and Host teams, ensuring that service standards are consistently met and guest expectations are exceeded. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations across all departments, managing guest experience and service recovery, supporting staff development, and ensuring operational consistency in line with brand standards. You will also play a key role in maintaining cost control, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring communication between departments is clear and effective. This is not an office-based role — the successful candidate will be expected to be actively present in guest areas, leading by example and ensuring a calm, structured, and professional environment at all times.
