??? ??????????? ??????????? is assisting a leading African luxury travel and conservation group with a Johannesburg Head Office, in sourcing an experienced and commercially minded ????? ?????? ??????? to join its Group Executive Committee. This is a senior Group leadership role rather than an advisory, communications or reporting function, and the successful candidate will be accountable for defining, integrating and advancing the organisation's long-term impact ambition for the Group. The role connects the Group's purpose and long-term impact commitments with strategy, capital allocation, operations, guest experience, people, brand and long-term resilience, and the successful candidate will engage credibly with the Board, shareholders, global partners, governments, communities and funders. The successful candidate will also serve as the single executive point of accountability for the Group's long-term strategic partnership with its affiliated non-profit conservation partners and will understand and promote the values of a for-profit impact model alongside the commercial success that sustains long-term impact objectives. Responsibilities • The Chief Impact Officer will sit on the Group Executive Committee and ensure conservation, community and sustainability priorities are represented in major Group decisions. • The successful candidate will set the Group's overall impact direction, including its long-term targets, investment priorities and how progress is measured. • The role carries overall accountability for the organisation's key conservation partnership, shaping the joint strategy, funding arrangements and governance. • The Chief Impact Officer will work with regional and property leadership to translate impact goals into everyday operating practice, from procurement to guest experience. • The successful candidate will lead how the Group reports on its impact performance, ensuring the data and claims behind it stand up to external scrutiny. • The role includes responsibility for growing external funding, including donor, philanthropic and partner relationships that support the impact agenda. • The Chief Impact Officer will represent the organisation in high-level external settings, building relationships with governments, funders and conservation bodies. Requirements • Minimum of 15 years of senior leadership experience in sustainability, conservation or community development, with a steady rise in seniority along the way. • A relevant degree - a postgraduate qualification is a plus but not essential. • Genuine C-suite or Group-level experience, comfortable working directly with Boards and shareholders. • A track record of turning strategy into results across more than one country. • Strong commercial and financial skills, including managing sizeable budgets and building investment cases. • A working understanding of impact measurement and sustainability reporting standards such as IFRS, GRI and TNFD. • A well-established international network and a visible history of representing an organisation publicly. • Experience building relationships with major donors or funders. • Background in luxury travel or conservation tourism is preferred but strong candidates from other sectors would be considered.
