Job Title: Branch Manager – Materials Handling / Industrial Equipment
Location: Johannesburg
Salary: Market-related (R75,000 – R90,000 per month CTC, depending on experience)
Job Purpose:
An established company in the materials handling and industrial equipment sector is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead a high-performing team, drive sales growth, and oversee all operational and financial aspects of the branch.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of employees, including the management team.
- Set clear performance objectives, provide ongoing feedback, and conduct evaluations.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment.
Sales and Business Development
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and increase market share.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including prospecting and cultivating relationships with potential clients.
- Maintain strong customer relationships to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to maintain a competitive edge.
Operational Management
- Oversee day-to-day branch operations, including inventory, order processing, and logistics.
- Monitor and analyse branch performance metrics, including sales reports, financial statements, and inventory levels.
- Implement efficient processes and best practices to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage the branch budget, including revenue forecasting and expense control.
- Monitor financial performance and implement measures to achieve profitability targets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimise financial resources.
Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the customer service team to improve service delivery and resolve customer issues.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a branch or operations management role in sales-driven or industrial equipment environments.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent sales, business development, and customer relationship capabilities.
- Solid financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and branch P&L.
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
