An established fine dining restaurant located on the Durbanville Wine Route is currently recruiting for a Junior Pastry Chef to join its culinary brigade.

The kitchen operates predominantly between 08:00 and 17:00, with occasional evening shifts for private functions. Chefs receive two off-days weekly within a structured rotational roster.

Due to the estate location, candidates must reside within the Northern Suburbs and have their own reliable transport (non-negotiable).

Minimum Requirements

• 1–2 years’ professional pastry experience (essential)
• Formal pastry qualification (non-negotiable)
• Strong cake, baking and dessert production skills
• Professional pastry portfolio (essential)
• Ability to assist on both hot and cold sections when operationally required
• Own reliable transport (non-negotiable)

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and production of desserts, pastries and baked goods
• Maintain consistent quality and presentation standards
• Assist with menu development and seasonal updates
• Support kitchen operations across sections when required
• Maintain hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards
• Work closely with the Head Chef and brigade

Remuneration

Full-time position
Salary: R8 500 – R10 500 (dependent on experience)
