Duty Manager | Luxury Safari Lodge | Northern KwaZulu-Natal

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a professional and guest-focused Duty Manager to join a luxury lodge in Northern KwaZulu-Natal. This role requires strong administrative skills, lodge experience, and proficiency in Opera, with the ability to oversee daily operations and deliver exceptional guest service in a remote safari environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the senior operational representative during assigned shifts
  
• Ensure seamless guest experiences from arrival to departure
  
• Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests with professionalism
  
• Oversee lodge operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Guiding, and Maintenance
  
• Conduct daily briefings and shift handovers
  
• Supervise staff on duty, ensuring correct appearance, conduct, and service etiquette
  
• Support training, mentoring, and development of junior team members
  
• Uphold health, safety, and environmental standards, including wildlife safety protocols
  
• Act as first responder during emergencies and ensure accurate incident reporting
  
• Complete daily operational reports, guest records, and handover notes
  
• Assist with stock control, cost awareness, and cash handling where applicable
  
• Liaise with Reservations and Head Office regarding guest movements and requirements
  

Minimum Requirements

• Strong administrative skills with Opera system experience (essential)
  
• Previous lodge experience in a luxury safari environment
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
• Calm, professional, and solutions-driven under pressure
  
• Strong leadership and organisational abilities
  
• Valid driver's licence
  
• Cultural sensitivity and emotional intelligence
