Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a passionate and motivated Commis Chef for a renowned fine dining restaurant in Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring chef to develop their skills in a professional, fast-paced kitchen while working alongside an experienced culinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes.
- Ensure all food is prepared to the restaurant's standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic workstation.
- Support senior chefs with daily kitchen operations.
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Assist with stock rotation and ingredient preparation.
- Work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen, preferably within a fine dining environment.
- Culinary qualification will be advantageous.
- Passion for food and eagerness to learn and develop.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Package
- Salary of R6,000 – R8,000 depending on experience.
