Lodge Manager | Luxury Safari Lodge | Sabi Sands

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Lodge Manager for a luxury safari lodge in the Sabi Sands. This is an exceptional opportunity for a hospitality professional with a strong background in luxury lodge operations and guest service to lead a dedicated team while delivering world-class guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service

• Be a visible and hands-on host, engaging with guests daily to ensure personalised and memorable experiences.
  
• Maintain exceptional guest service standards and proactively manage guest feedback.
  
• Respond professionally to guest queries, complaints and special requests.
  
• Host VIP guests, travel agents and media visits where required.
  
• Conduct guest briefings and ensure activities and experiences run seamlessly.
  

Lodge Operations

• Take full responsibility for lodge operations in the absence of the General Manager.
  
• Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between all lodge departments.
  
• Maintain operational procedures and service standards in line with company SOPs.
  
• Ensure the lodge is always presented to the highest standard.
  

Staff Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor and motivate the lodge team.
  
• Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
  
• Identify talent and create opportunities for career growth.
  
• Foster a positive, collaborative and inclusive working environment.
  

Financial & Stock Control

• Assist with expenditure management, stock control and ordering.
  
• Support stock takes and supplier management.
  
• Monitor departmental costs while maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction.
  

Compliance & Standards

• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP.
  
• Promote sustainability initiatives across the lodge.
  
• Implement HR policies relating to rosters, leave, overtime and disciplinary procedures.
  

Communication & Reporting

• Attend management meetings and report on guest feedback and lodge performance.
  
• Prepare operational reports for senior management.
  
• Maintain accurate records and operational documentation.
  

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a senior lodge management or guest services role within a 5-star safari lodge or boutique hotel.
  
• Proven track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
• High level of professionalism, emotional intelligence and adaptability.
  
• Exceptional organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  
• Sound knowledge of luxury lodge operations.
  
• Valid driver's licence and own transport.
  
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospitality management systems.
