Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to support Sales, Customer Service, and Production teams by delivering accurate pricing, cost analysis, and work instructions. This role plays a critical part in achieving sales targets and maintaining profitability through precise estimating and data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage new work specifications and cost estimates
- Compile and submit contract pricing and tender documentation
- Maintain and update pricing structures and client price grids
- Monitor and manage contract review schedules
- Support the Sales team with estimates and pricing-related queries
- Review and approve estimate variations and cost adjustments
- Analyse MIS data outputs to identify discrepancies and improve accuracy
- Evaluate production costing and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide cost analysis reports to support business decisions
- Compile weekly and monthly operational reports
- Provide user support and troubleshooting for MIS systems
- Liaise with external MIS service providers
- Perform ad hoc estimating and administrative duties
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an estimating role (preferably within printing, packaging, manufacturing, or FMCG environments)
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Relevant qualification or certification in Estimating, Costing, or Production Management (advantageous)
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel essential) and estimating systems such as Radius MIS and QlikView
- Solid understanding of production costing, pricing models, and tender processes
