Job Summary
I am seeking a detail-driven and analytical Senior Accountant to join a well-established and growing organisation based in Johannesburg.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working across the full finance function, partnering with different teams, and playing a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.
Duties include:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly management accounts (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
- Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful insights to management
Month-End & Year-End
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Support audits and assist with the annual budgeting process
General Ledger & Controls
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Identify and resolve discrepancies
- Strengthen and maintain internal financial controls
Stock & Inventory
- Oversee stock receipts and reconciliations
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation (FIFO/LIFO)
- Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams
Payments & Suppliers
- Manage payment batches and schedules
- Perform supplier reconciliations and resolve queries
Collaboration
- Partner with operations, procurement, and finance teams
- Contribute to process improvements and financial efficiency initiatives
Minimum Requirements:
- BCom Accounting (Honours) / CIMA / CA(SA)
- CA(SA): 1–3 years post articles
- CIMA: 2–3 years’ experience
- BCom Honours: 3–5 years’ experience
Key Skills:
- Strong financial reporting and reconciliation experience
- Exposure to stock / inventory accounting (essential)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience on Pastel / Sage or similar ERP systems
