Job Summary
Largest medical malpractice firm in the country is recruiting for a Junior Accountant to join their finance department. The firm’s offices are situated in Hyde Park, Johannesburg.
The Junior Accountant will report and work closely with senior finance as part of a small, but dynamic finance team. There will be a great opportunity to learn, for growth in skills as well as remuneration.
Overall responsibilities include processing journals, day to day requests by the senior finance staff. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in an administrative role. Experience in a Lw firm environment will be a definite positive.
This will be a dynamic accounting position with solid prospects for an eager candidate wanting to grow and expand their horizons.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process various general journals in the accounting system.
- Business credit card reconciliation.
- Stationery distribution and ordering.
- Capturing of weekly and monthly schedules for budgets.
- Allocating and analysing payment requestions for payment and processing.
- Processing creditors invoices in the accounting system.
- Bridge financing applications and updating of loan schedules.
- Assisting with the management of the data storage function.
- Opening new file numbers on the accounting system.
- Assist the financial manager with audit requirements.
- Closing off of client matters on the accounting system once approved by the financial manager.
- Timely filing of all processed transactions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma, or Certificate in finance or accounting an advantage.
- 3-5 years working as an accounts assistant or administrator.
- Experience with administrative functions including creditor functions.
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- MS Excel skills- basic.
- Minimum requirement - administrative experience.
- Experience working at a law firm is preferred.
Remuneration:
- R260,000 to R300,000 pa, negotiable on experience.
