Job Description
As a Test Lead & Analyst within the banking and finance sector, the role involves leading testing activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. The position requires managing the complete testing lifecycle, analysing business and technical requirements, and coordinating with stakeholders to define testing scope and strategy. The role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on testing and analysis to support project objectives effectively.
Job Duties
- SIT|UAT /Regression planning and execution
- Develop and implement test strategies, plans, and schedules aligned with project goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, mentor and coordinate the activities of the testing team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of test cycles.
- Analyse business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documentation to define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality, performance, and security.
- Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate defect management tools, ensuring timely resolution and re-testing.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage and alignment with business objectives.
- Report on test progress, metrics, risks, and issues to project leadership and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and best practises throughout the testing process.
- Support user acceptance testing by preparing test data, coordinating test execution, and providing guidance to end-users.
- Continuously evaluate and improve testing methodologies and processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant professional qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in test leadership and analysis within the banking and finance sector.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle and testing methodologies.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for a range of audiences.
Education
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field is essential.
- Professional certification in software testing (such as ISTQB or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience in software testing, with at least two years in a lead or senior analyst role.
- Experience working on projects within the banking and finance industry.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple testing activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with both manual and automated testing techniques.
Knowledge and Skills
- Test mgmt, SQL, defect mgmt.
- In-depth knowledge of testing lifecycle, methodologies, and tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards relevant to banking and finance.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Competence in risk identification and mitigation within testing activities.
- Proficient with test automation frameworks and scripting languages is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Knowledge of specific banking software platforms or financial systems.
- Experience in performance and security testing.
