Assistant Room Service Manager (In-Room Dining)

At The President Hotel, exceptional guest service extends beyond our restaurants and public spaces. Our In-Room Dining operation plays a vital role in delivering seamless, personalised dining experiences to guests in the comfort of their rooms.
As we continue our journey toward luxury, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Room Service Manager (In-Room Dining) who brings strong operational support, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to managing 24-hour room service operations.
This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with in-room dining or food & beverage supervisory experience in a busy hotel environment, who is ready to support leadership while ensuring service consistency, quality, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Support and assist in overseeing all In-Room Dining operations, including:
- 24-hour room service delivery
- Order taking, coordination, and dispatch
- Tray and trolley setup, presentation, and collection
Operational & Leadership Responsibilities:
- Assist in supervising the In-Room Dining team during shifts
- Ensure service standards align with the hotel’s luxury positioning
- Support staff scheduling, attendance, and shift allocation
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and assist with daily handovers
- Ensure correct setup, cleanliness, and closing procedures
Service Quality & Guest Experience:
- Maintain high standards of food presentation, accuracy, and delivery times
- Be a visible and hands-on presence during service periods
- Handle guest feedback and service recovery professionally
- Liaise closely with Kitchen and Front Office teams for seamless service delivery
Controls & Administration:
- Monitor stock usage, linen, and equipment within In-Room Dining
- Assist with stock counts, wastage control, and breakage reporting
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and liquor regulations
- Complete daily checklists, reports, and operational handovers
Minimum Requirements
- Matric or equivalent qualification
- Relevant hospitality or food & beverage qualification advantageous
- Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in In-Room Dining or Food & Beverage operations within a 4 or 5-star hotel
- Experience in a supervisory or assistant management role preferred
- Strong operational understanding of room service procedures
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and liquor legislation
- Computer literate, including POS systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
