Receiving Manager

A well-established retail organisation is seeking an experienced Receiving Manager to manage the accurate receiving of incoming goods and ensure the efficient movement of stock from the receiving area to the trading floor.
The successful candidate will oversee all receiving, stock-control, returns, administration and team-management functions within the department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the accurate receiving, scanning, checking and capturing of all incoming goods.
Verify stock received against invoices, purchase orders and delivery documentation.
Confirm that products are correct in terms of quantities, variations and condition.
Ensure all deliveries are intended for the correct store.
Prevent the acceptance of unordered, incorrect or damaged goods.
Accurately process credit notes and documentation for rejected stock.
Manage supplier returns, warehouse credits and warehouse claims.
Ensure deliveries are receipted on the same day and moved promptly to the shop floor.
Monitor outstanding supplier returns and follow up on the collection of stock.
Ensure supplier return reports and physical stock agree.
Create and capture purchase orders accurately on SAP.
Capture warehouse invoices and complete invoice verification.
Capture invoices that have been goods received in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain effective document flow, filing and invoice-pack preparation.
Ensure physical controls within the receiving area are maintained.
Manage and control high-risk stock.
Maintain an orderly and secure receiving area and storeroom.
Prevent unauthorised access through the goods-receiving area.
Manage staff schedules and departmental productivity.
Conduct performance management, coaching, training and staff development.
Mentor and support Receiving Clerks, Capturing Clerks and Store Assistants.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric.
Minimum 3 years’ relevant retail receiving experience.
Computer literacy, including MS Office.
Strong knowledge of receiving procedures and administration.
Willing and able to work retail hours.
Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
Physically fit and able to lift and move boxes weighing approximately 20kg.
South African citizen.
Clear credit and criminal records.
Advantageous Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising or managing a team of at least six employees.
Working knowledge of SAP.
Basic accounting knowledge.
Experience using stock rotation systems.
Bilingual communication ability.
Skills and Competencies
