Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Area Manager to oversee the operations and performance of multiple retail stores across the Western Cape.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales, managing store teams, ensuring operational standards are maintained, and implementing business strategies across their area.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and performance of multiple retail stores across the Western Cape.

• Drive store sales and ensure sales targets are achieved and exceeded.

• Implement and monitor marketing promotions and business strategies.

• Manage, motivate and develop store teams to maximise productivity and performance.

• Manage staffing requirements, performance management and employee relations in conjunction with HR.

• Monitor store security, risk and shrinkage, and implement preventative measures where required.

• Ensure effective stock, inventory and asset management across all stores.

• Monitor controllable expenses and contribute towards overall business profitability.

• Ensure consistent merchandising, housekeeping and operational standards across stores.

• Conduct regular store visits and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Monitor competitor activity, pricing, promotions and market opportunities.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and standard operating procedures.

• Drive high standards of customer service and assist with customer queries and complaints.

• Provide regular feedback to management regarding store performance, opportunities and challenges.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric is essential.

• 3–5 years' experience in a similar Area Manager capacity.

• Clothing retail experience is essential.

• Retail operations qualification will be advantageous.

• Proven experience managing multiple retail stores.

• Strong staff management and leadership experience.

• Strong understanding of retail operations and business financials.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

• Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.

• Self-motivated, driven and results-oriented.

• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when required.

• Valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver's licence.

• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively between stores.
