An established organisation is seeking to appoint a BIM Coordinator: Facilities (full-time) at its Head Office in Bellville.
The BIM Coordinator will serve as custodian of the organisation’s Autodesk and BIM environment. This role involves maintaining digital models, drawings, and asset data that describe the property portfolio, administering the Autodesk platform and common data environment, and applying modelling and information standards to work produced internally and by appointed external consultants. This is a technical and information management position and carries no architectural design authority or statutory design responsibility.
Autodesk platform and licence administration
Administer licence assignments, user provisioning, and Autodesk Forma platform setup.
Maintain licence registers and reconcile usage.
Model and drawing coordination
Update and maintain Revit models and drawings.
Federate discipline models, run clash detection, and issue coordination reports.
Verify model data against as-built site conditions.
Maintain revision control and drawing registers.
Asset and space data
Maintain models as the source of record for floor areas, room schedules, and space allocation.
Produce schedules supporting capital planning, insurance valuation, and lease calculations.
Progressively integrate the existing portfolio into the model.
BIM standards, user support and training
Own and maintain BIM Execution Plan, standards, templates, and libraries.
Audit consultant models and drawings against standards.
Provide first-line support and training to internal users and consultants.
Support project managers with data, reports, and model extracts.
Qualifications
National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF 6) in architectural technology, construction, drafting, built environment, or IT; OR Matric plus Autodesk certification with verifiable production experience.
Advantageous: BTech/Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7), Autodesk Certified Professional: Revit, ISO 19650 certification.
Skills
Revit modelling, family and parameter authoring.
Model federation, clash detection, and coordination.
Common data environment administration (Autodesk Forma).
Drawing and revision management to defined standards.
AutoCAD drafting and drawing production.
Asset and space data management and reporting.
Licence and user administration.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience
Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience producing and maintaining Revit models.
Revit architectural modelling to production standard.
Working literacy in Revit Structural and MEP.
AutoCAD drafting and drawing set management.
Document and revision control within structured systems.
Advantageous: Autodesk Forma administration, Navisworks, Dynamo/Diroots, ISO 19650 principles, licence administration, multi-site portfolios, education buildings, knowledge of SANS 10400/NBR.
Valid Code B driver’s licence and reliable transport.
Clearance against the National Register for Sex Offenders and Part B of the National Child Protection Register.
Consent to criminal record screening and qualification verification.
Accurate, methodical, and disciplined about documentation.
