Maloka Machaba Surfacing (PTY) Ltd Monday, 20 July 2026Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Millwright with experience in the asphalt and bitumen industry. Responsibilities include repairs, maintenance, planning and optimisation of asphalt plants, including; welding, lathe work, mechanical and electrical, to ensure reliable plant performance and operational compliance. Key Responsibilities • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime. • Inspect, service and repair asphalt plant components (screw, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps and compressors). • Perform preventative maintenance, lubrication and cleaning. • Maintain and troubleshoot motors, electrical circuits and VSDs. • Install, repair and align motor-driven systems. • Fabricate components using lathes, milling and line boring machines. • Carry out welding and fabrication repairs. • Maintain maintenance records, work orders and spare parts control. • Read and interpret technical, electrical and pneumatic drawings. Minimum Requirements • Trade certificate as a Red Seal Millwright or equivalent. • This role requires a recognised Red Seal Millwright trade test Certificate. • Minimum of 3 years' experience, with heavy industrial equipment like pumps, screw conveyors and compressors. Preferred Skills • Strong leadership and team management abilities. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure. • Experience in manufacturing, construction, quarrying, asphalt, or industrial plant operations is advantageous.
