Job Summary
CAREER OPPORTUNITY:
We are looking for an experienced Shift Supervisor to join a manufacturing environment in Johannesburg.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a production shift, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, safety requirements and company procedures are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise production employees during the shift.
Ensure planned production targets are achieved.
Monitor production output, machine performance and downtime.
Control scrap, rejects and material wastage.
Ensure products meet required quality standards and specifications.
Ensure production procedures and work instructions are followed.
Complete and review shift production reports.
Conduct proper shift handovers and communicate outstanding issues.
Identify and resolve production problems or escalate where necessary.
Report machine and maintenance requirements.
Monitor employee attendance, performance, conduct and productivity.
Ensure health, safety and housekeeping standards are maintained.
Work closely with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams.
Requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric – Essential
2–3 years' experience in a plastics manufacturing environment – Essential
Previous supervisory or production leadership experience.
Must be willing to work shifts.
Supervisory or Production Management qualification will be advantageous.
Plastics manufacturing/process training will be advantageous.
Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
