Job Summary
Well-established and growing manufacturer seeks to employ a suitably qualified and experienced R&D Chemist. You will play an important role in ensuring the quality, compliance and continuous improvement of our chemical products, while supporting new product development, regulatory compliance and technical documentation. Based in MUIZENBERG.
For the position you would be required to have:
• B.Sc or B.Tech in Chemistry or a related field
• At least 5 years' experience in Quality Assurance and R&D
Responsibilities would include you to:
· Lead and support a team of laboratory technicians.
· Conduct chemical analyses on raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
· Implement and maintain analytical testing methods to ensure product specifications are achieved.
· Collaborate with laboratory and R&D teams to optimise product formulations.
· Participate in new product development, feasibility studies, process optimisation and formulation improvements.
· Assist with pilot-scale trials and evaluate new product formulations.
· Prepare documentation for new product registrations and regulatory compliance.
· Maintain accurate technical documentation relating to product specifications, quality control and manufacturing processes.
· Provide technical documentation and support during internal and external audits.
· Investigate product quality complaints, conduct root-cause analysis and assist with corrective actions.
· Provide technical assistance across departments when operationally required.
Salary negotiable around R35k per month
