Job Summary
? ?? ??????????? ??????????? is recruiting on behalf of a growing, multi-concept food and beverage brand in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, for a creative, hands-on and commercially minded ???? ???? Our client operates two distinct, well-loved hospitality concepts in Moshi — a vibrant garden café celebrated for its diverse international menu, wood-fired pizza, sushi, specialty coffee and welcoming atmosphere, and a boutique lodge with a farm-to-table dining ethos built around locally sourced Kilimanjaro produce. With a loyal following among travellers, expats and the local community alike, the brand has built a strong reputation for quality, creativity and warm hospitality. Now entering an exciting new chapter, the business is preparing to open a second café location near Kilimanjaro International Airport toward the end of September 2026 — and they need the right culinary leader on board ahead of that launch. The Head Chef will carry dual responsibility: maintaining and strengthening the existing Moshi kitchen operation while leading the full culinary setup and opening of the new airport-facing location. Day-to-day, this means overseeing food quality, consistency and presentation across both sites, developing and finalising menus, standardising recipes, managing food costs and waste, and ensuring robust kitchen systems and SOPs are embedded. Equally important is the people side — recruiting, training and developing kitchen teams who can deliver on the brand's standards as it scales. This is a high-energy, hands-on role for a chef who is as comfortable on the pass as they are thinking strategically about how a growing multi-site food brand should operate. ? A food portfolio must be submitted with your application that clearly displays your creativity, innovation and attention to detail. (All images will be checked via google lens to ensure ownership) ???????????? • Proven experience in a senior kitchen leadership role, ideally spanning multi-concept or multi-site operations. • A versatile culinary background across breakfast/brunch, continental cuisine, pizza, burgers, salads and bowls — sushi experience is a distinct advantage. • Strong commercial acumen: confident with food costing, portion control, waste management and kitchen financial performance. • Track record of recruiting, training and developing kitchen teams to a consistently high standard. • Ability to develop menus from concept through to standardised, scalable recipes ready for a new opening. • Experienced in establishing kitchen systems, SOPs and operational controls across a brigade. • Hands-on leadership style — willing to work alongside the team, especially during busy service and the pre-opening phase. • Early availability is essential: the KIA location is planned to open in late September 2026. • A relevant culinary qualification is preferred. • South African candidates are preferred; suitably experienced Kenyan or Tanzanian candidates will also be considered. • Contactable references are essential. ?????? – USD 2,500 net per month, with a performance review after 6 months. ? ?????? ???? – Although we appreciate all applications received, we will only reply to those candidates who have the background and experience required.
