Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Estate Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of a retirement village. The Estate Manager will ensure that the community is well-maintained, secure, and provides a high quality of life for all residents. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of facility management, and a compassionate approach to working with older adults. Key Responsibilities: 1. Operational Management: o Oversee the day-to-day operations of the retirement village, including maintenance, clubhouse, kitchen, landscaping, irrigation, resident relations, financial budgets. o Ensure that all facilities are maintained to a high standard and comply with health and safety regulations. o Manage and coordinate with external contractors and service providers for various maintenance and repair services. 2. Resident Relations: o Act as a primary point of contact for residents and address their concerns and requests in a timely and professional manner. o Organize and oversee resident activities and community events to enhance the quality of life within the village. o Ensure effective communication with residents about important updates, policies, and events. 3. Financial Management: o Prepare and manage the estate’s budget, including monitoring expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities. o Oversee billing and payment processes for services provided to residents. o Assist with financial reporting and provide regular updates to senior management. 4. Staff Management: o Recruit, train, and supervise estate staff, including maintenance workers, clubhouse staff. o Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing support and development for staff members. o Schedule staff shifts and ensure adequate coverage for all operational needs. 5. Compliance and Safety: o Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including health and safety standards; building codes, and insurance requirements. o Conduct regular inspections of facilities and address any issues related to safety or compliance. o Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct training for staff and residents. o Full Health & Safety management and compliance. 6. Administrative Duties: o Maintain accurate records related to maintenance, resident requests, and financial transactions. o Prepare reports and documentation as required by senior management. o Handle administrative tasks such as correspondence, scheduling, and reporting. Qualifications: • Proven experience in facility or estate management, preferably in a retirement village or similar environment. • Strong understanding of maintenance, health and safety regulations, and property management. • Excellent organizational and time-management skills. • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with older adults. • Ability to manage a budget and handle financial tasks. • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a team. • Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software. Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality management, Facilities Manager, Business management, or a related field is preferred. • Relevant certifications or training in property management or elder care is a plus. • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role or related field. Working Conditions: Full-time position with occasional evening or weekend hours as needed. On-site presence required. Live in the surrounding areas of the estate Own transport with a valid drivers license
