5-Star Boutique Hotel & Spa | Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape
Kendrick Recruitment is currently searching for an exceptional General Manager for a well-established, award-winning 5-star boutique hotel and spa in Plettenberg Bay. This property forms part of a respected boutique hospitality group with operations across South Africa.
This intimate coastal hotel offers a refined guest experience with a strong emphasis on personalised service, outstanding food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. This opportunity is suited to a leader who values culture, character and genuine human connection, and who can inspire excellence across all areas of the operation.
Position: Live-out
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior management or General Manager role within luxury boutique hospitality
• Relevant hospitality or tourism qualification
• Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting and cost control
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop a close-knit team
• Sound knowledge of HR legislation and practices
• Experience hosting agents, media and VIP guests
• Understanding of sustainability practices within hospitality
• Computer literate with strong administrative capability
• Valid PrDP
• Impeccable references and a clean employment track record (non-negotiable)
• Full general management of all hotel departments and daily operations
• Financial management including budgeting, forecasting and reporting
• HR leadership including recruitment, training, performance management and staff development
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with guests, staff, agents, the local community and industry partners
• Driving continuous improvement of the guest experience across all touchpoints
• Custodian of operational equipment and hotel assets
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and sustainability standards
• Upholding and championing company values and culture throughout the team

• Gross monthly salary: R50,000 – R60,000 (dependent on experience)
