Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Reservationist (OTA Specialist) for the Johannesburg head office of a well-established boutique hospitality group with luxury properties across South Africa. This is a fast-paced, office-based role suited to a candidate with strong online travel agency experience and a solid understanding of hospitality reservations systems.
Salary: R25 000 CTC (Negotiable, dependent on experience)
The Reservationist (OTA Specialist) will be responsible for managing all reservations across multiple luxury properties, ensuring accurate online listings, rate parity, and a seamless booking experience for guests. The role requires strong OTA platform knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with property teams to maintain operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage all reservations across direct and online travel agency (OTA) channels
• Maintain accurate availability, rates, content, and listings across all platforms
• Monitor OTA performance and ensure rate parity across all channels
• Process bookings, amendments, cancellations, and special requests efficiently
• Handle guest booking enquiries and confirmations in a professional manner
• Work with channel managers and property management systems (e.g. Opera or similar)
• Support revenue management processes and reporting requirements
• Flag discrepancies in rates, availability, or system updates
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure accurate booking flow and information
• Manage all pre-arrival guest correspondence with accuracy and efficiency
• Ensure a seamless reservation experience aligned with luxury service standards
• Communicate effectively with property teams regarding guest arrivals and requirements
• Maintain accurate records of all reservations and system updates
• Ensure compliance with internal processes and operational standards
• Provide administrative support to the reservations and revenue teams as required
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in reservations within a luxury hotel or hospitality group (essential)
• Proven experience managing OTA platforms such as Expedia, Booking.com, and similar (essential)
• Experience with channel managers and PMS systems such as Opera or equivalent
• Strong understanding of rate management, availability control, and yield principles
• Excellent written English for guest communication
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Stable employment history with contactable references
• Currently based in Johannesburg (essential)
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Professional, reliable, and deadline-driven approach
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
