Our client operates an intimate collection of remote properties in 2 of Africa's most extraordinary destinations. With a legacy built on responsible tourism and conservation, and an exceptional reputation for curating transformative guest experiences, this is a rare and meaningful environment for someone who is genuinely passionate about Africa and the luxury travel space. The role is based in Cape Town, with hybrid working available after a successful probation period. The Senior Travel Designer will take full ownership of designing and converting high-value, bespoke itineraries for a discerning international clientele across both trade and direct channels. The role demands expert-level travel design, advanced enquiry qualification, and consistent delivery against revenue and conversion targets — paired with meticulous booking administration and seamless client communication from first enquiry through to post-travel follow-up. Beyond individual performance, the position carries a mentorship dimension: sharing destination knowledge, conversion best practice, and service standards with the broader reservations team. Requirements A minimum of 3 years’ experience in luxury travel sales, with a demonstrated ability to convert complex, high-value enquiries Proven track record designing and presenting bespoke, multi-destination itineraries tailored to individual guest profiles Strong commercial acumen, including an understanding of margin management, rate integrity, and yield optimisation Experience working across both trade (B2B) and direct (B2C) sales channels Familiarity with reservations platforms such as Res Request, Safari Portal, or similar; HubSpot experience advantageous Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and trade partners High attention to detail across booking administration, financial documentation, and service reconfirmation processes Ability to manage high-priority, time-sensitive enquiries with professionalism and composure Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members would be a distinct advantage Deep knowledge of southern or East African safari destinations, particularly Zambia and/or Madagascar, is highly desirable Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Contactable references Salary: On application Employment: Permanent | Hybrid ?
