Position Overview: The successful Key Account Manager (KAM Corporate & Government) will be responsible for securing, retaining, and growing high-value accommodation, conference, and event business across the Western Cape region. This role focuses on strategic relationship management within local, provincial, and national government sectors, as well as mid-to-large corporate accounts. The ideal candidate will possess deep regional market knowledge, an established network of procurement contacts, and a proven track record of hitting aggressive sales targets. Position Details: Company: Confidential Hospitality Group Title: Key Account Manager – Corporate & Government Location: Western Cape (Cape Town Seaboard Regional Office) Reporting To: Regional Sales Manager & National Sales Manager Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Key Responsibilities: 1: Business Development & Acquisition Identify and secure new corporate accounts and government tenders across the Western Cape. Navigate formal public sector procurement channels, including the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and RT3 tender frameworks. Conduct cold calls, face-to-face sales meetings, and site inspections to showcase the group's properties. 2: Account Management & Retention Act as the primary commercial contact for a dedicated portfolio of corporate and public sector clients. Conduct regular service level agreement (SLA) reviews to ensure maximum account penetration and satisfaction. Cross-sell the group’s national portfolio to regional Western Cape clients. 3: Strategic Sales & Revenue Optimization Negotiate corporate rates, group accommodation contracts, and conferencing packages to maximize yield. Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and production reports to identify revenue gaps. Collaborate with Revenue Management and General Managers to align pricing strategies with market demand. 4: Reporting & Administration Maintain meticulous records of all sales activities, pipelines, and client profiles in the CRM system. Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly sales production reports for executive leadership. Manage and participate in regional trade shows, networking events, and client entertainment initiatives. Requirements: Experience & Education Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Sales, Marketing, or a related business field. Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive sales experience within the hospitality or tourism sector. Proven track record of managing government portfolios and corporate procurement in South Africa. Skills & Competencies Deep knowledge of public sector tender processes, PFMA regulations, and corporate travel programs. Advanced negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills. High proficiency in property management systems (PMS), sales CRM software, and Microsoft Office Excel. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and volume trends. Personal Attributes Driven; self-motivated, and target-orientated professional. High emotional intelligence with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle (essential for regional travel).
