Job Summary
An exciting opportunity exists within the Commercial department for a Raw Material Buyer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the sourcing and purchasing of E-Waste and related materials. This position is ideally suited to someone with great people skills, an affinity for sales and buying, as well as strong administrative skills
Key duties:
Sourcing of raw materials for further processing.
Identify and engage with potential suppliers.
Maintain awareness of new opportunities.
Determine the estimated value of the raw materials.
When required, obtain a mandate from the Commercial Managers to purchase the applicable materials.
Maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
Build an understanding of the underlying business model to make purposeful buying decisions.
Minimum requirements and Competencies:
Matric
Sales & Buying experience will be advantageous
Further qualifications are not required, but will be beneficial
Computer literate (Microsoft 365).
Excellent planning and organising skills.
Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
Able to travel out of town, as required.
Ability to communicate in English and Afrikaans.
Excellent attention to detail and strong administrative skills.
Basic calculation skills, with the aim of making purchasing /costing decisions.
