This is a senior leadership role responsible for building and driving the commercial engine of the business, and it reports to the Directors, Owners and Cluster Camp Manager. The successful candidate will own the annual sales and marketing strategy, budget and revenue targets, translate ownership objectives into actionable commercial plans, and represent the brand at senior level industry forums and strategic planning sessions. They will lead international business development across key source markets, building direct relationships with top tier tour operators, travel designers and luxury travel advisors, and personally managing a portfolio of key accounts at major international trade shows and workshops. The Senior Sales & Marketing Manager directly manages a and a Reservations Manager based in Arusha, and provides direction to the wider Reservations Coordinator team, building the team's capability in relationship management, negotiation and consultative selling, and overseeing day to day sales and reservations operations. The role also owns brand positioning, messaging and visual consistency across all guest facing channels, directs digital marketing, content, PR and campaign strategy, and guides website, social media and digital distribution to strengthen direct bookings alongside trade business. The successful candidate will advise on the packaging of experiences and itineraries, track competitor activity and market intelligence, and provide regular commercial reporting on sales, revenue and account performance. Requirements • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Tourism, Hospitality Management or a related field is required. • Candidates should have four to eight years of progressive sales and marketing experience within luxury hospitality or high-end safari and travel, including at least two to three years in a leadership or head of department capacity. • Demonstrated experience with boutique, design led luxury safari brands is required, along with an intimate understanding of how smaller, high touch properties compete and win against larger groups. • An established personal network of international tour operators, travel designers and luxury travel trade contacts is essential. • Candidates should have a proven ability to lead and develop sales and reservations teams while personally managing high value international accounts. • Strong commercial acumen is required, including comfort with budgets, forecasting, revenue management principles and data driven decision making. • A sophisticated understanding of luxury brand positioning, digital marketing and destination marketing is essential. • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills are required, with the professionalism to represent the brand at ownership and industry level. • Frequent international and domestic travel, including to remote camp locations is required • A genuine affinity for sustainability, conservation and community centred tourism is required.
