Hospitality Trainer - Luxury Safari & Lodge Operations - Maun, Botswana Kendrick Recruitment is searching for an experienced and passionate Hospitality Trainer for a well-respected, internationally recognised luxury safari operator with a portfolio of lodges across Botswana's Okavango Delta region. This is a Maun-based role with frequent travel to lodge operations throughout the Delta. The successful candidate will be responsible for elevating hospitality standards across multiple properties through hands-on training, coaching and skills development - partnering with lodge management and the Human Capital team to build a culture of service excellence and continuous learning. CRITICAL - BOTSWANA WORK AUTHORISATION: The Botswana work permit system is highly restrictive. Applications will only be considered from candidates who meet one of the following criteria: Botswana citizenship Botswana permanent residency Candidates who have previously held a valid Botswana work permit and have the relevant qualifications and experience to successfully reapply Applications from candidates who do not meet the above criteria cannot be considered regardless of experience. Please do not apply if you do not meet this requirement. Please note: Candidates must already be based in Maun or be willing and able to relocate to Maun independently. Accommodation is not provided for the Maun-based portion of this role. When required to stay on-site at lodge operations, accommodation will be provided. Minimum Requirements: Minimum 10 years' experience in the hospitality industry - essential Proven experience in training, learning and development, hospitality management or a similar operational leadership role Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Training and Development, Education or a related field Recognised Trainer or Facilitator certification advantageous Experience within luxury lodges, hotels or safari operations highly advantageous Proven ability to facilitate training programmes and coach employees at all levels Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills Highly organised with strong planning and administrative ability Ability to work independently and travel extensively within Botswana Strong command of the English language Stable work history with contactable references Must meet Botswana work authorisation requirements as outlined above Key Responsibilities: Enhance hospitality standards across all Botswana lodge operations through effective training, coaching, mentoring and skills development Support lodge teams in delivering exceptional guest experiences consistently aligned to brand standards and service ethos Identify operational training needs across all lodges and departments and develop practical, impactful training interventions Conduct regular lodge visits to monitor service delivery, assess standards and provide hands-on training and support Establish training needs, prioritise development requirements and formulate training plans with measurable learning outcomes Maintain training records, skills matrices and development plans to track employee progress Support management teams in identifying talent and developing succession plans in conjunction with the Human Capital Manager Promote and instil a culture of guest care, learning excellence and accountability throughout all departments Provide regular reporting on training activities, skills development progress and operational opportunities Stay current on hospitality trends and innovative training methodologies to ensure programmes remain relevant and impactful Who You Are: Genuinely passionate about developing people and creating exceptional guest experiences Warm; outgoing and approachable with the ability to build relationships across all levels Self-motivated and comfortable working independently across remote lodge environments Professional; well-presented and results-driven Strong attention to detail and unwavering commitment to excellence Package: Market-related salary Travel allowance provided Standard benefits package, including medical aid contribution Maun-based with frequent travel to Okavango Delta lodge operations Accommodation provided when on-site at lodge operations only Should you feel you are the right fit for this role and meet the Botswana work authorisation requirements, please apply with your updated CV, contactable references and a recent head and shoulders photo ASAP! ?
