Technical Services Manager - High-end Luxury Safari Camp Portfolio - South Luangwa, Zambia Kendrick Recruitment is searching for a highly skilled, experienced and hands-on Technical Services Manager for a well-regarded luxury safari operator with a portfolio of five remote safari camps in the South Luangwa region of Zambia. Based at the central operational hub with regular travel to remote camps, this is a practical, on-the-ground leadership role for a technically strong professional who can manage multidisciplinary maintenance operations independently and develop a capable technical team. Please note: This is a live-in position based in Zambia. Candidates must have valid work authorisation for Zambia or be eligible to apply for a Zambian work permit. The employer will support the work permit process for the right candidate. Minimum Requirements: Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar technical management role - essential Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration or a related field preferred Trade certification advantageous Strong; proven electrical background - essential Solid working knowledge of solar power systems, inverter technologies and battery banks - essential Proven fleet management experience across safari vehicles, generators, pumps and engines - essential Experience with refrigeration systems, cold chain management and air-conditioning Strong knowledge of plumbing, water reticulation, infrastructure maintenance and camp structures Proven experience managing multidisciplinary maintenance teams Experience in remote lodge, safari, mining or construction environments preferred Valid driver's licence - essential Willing and able to travel regularly between remote bush camps Excellent problem-solving, planning and communication skills Practical; hands-on approach with high integrity and accountability Stable work history with contactable references Key Responsibilities: ? Technical Operations Oversee all maintenance and technical operations across five remote safari camps Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules across all infrastructure, equipment and systems Respond effectively to technical breakdowns and emergency maintenance issues Ensure all camps remain operationally efficient and technically compliant at all times ⚡ Electrical & Solar Systems Manage all camp electrical systems including solar power, battery banks, inverters and backup power Conduct fault finding and implement corrective actions Ensure all electrical installations comply with operational safety standards ❄️ Refrigeration & Cold Chain Supervise maintenance of refrigeration systems, cold rooms, freezers and air-conditioning Ensure reliable cold chain management across all camps Coordinate external specialist contractors where required ? Fleet & Equipment Oversee servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance for safari vehicles, utility vehicles, generators, boats and outboard motors Maintain accurate workshop procedures and maintenance records Monitor equipment performance and lifecycle management ?️ Infrastructure & Workshop Manage central workshop operations and supervise workshop and technical teams Oversee infrastructure maintenance including guest rooms, staff housing, plumbing and camp access Coordinate refurbishment projects and infrastructure upgrades Implement stock control for technical spares and consumables ?
