Regional Business Development Officer (RBDO) - Inland
The Regional Business Development Officer is accountable for growing sustainable cullet recoveries across appointed inter-provincial regions by developing suppliers, expanding recovery infrastructure, improving stakeholder engagement, and delivering approved growth projects. Regions covered will include, Gauteng, North West, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Freestate.
The key performance areas are:
Growth of cullet recoveries
· Expand cullet intake by identifying new recovery opportunities, prioritizing strategic recovery areas, and converting viable opportunities into active collection sources.
· Achieve budgeted intake targets through structured pipeline management, supplier follow-up, and regional performance tracking.
· Develop and implement practical recovery methods for under-served or high-potential areas, with clear growth actions and follow-through.
· Support new and existing suppliers to increase sustainable cullet volumes through agreed growth plans and operational guidance.
Statistical analysis of glass recycling
· Maintain an accurate regional database of glass recycling performance to support collection forecasts, prioritization, and management reporting.
· Maintain regional forecasts that translate historical performance, supplier activity, and project pipeline assumptions into forward-looking intake expectations.
· Identify underperforming areas, define corrective actions, and monitor progress against agreed recovery improvement plans.
Projects
· Identify, motivate, and propose projects that increase cullet collections, improve access to recovery points, or strengthen supplier capability.
· Implement approved projects with defined milestones, monitored outcomes, and regular progress reporting.
· Ensure glass banks are placed in suitable high-impact locations and are used effectively to maximize recovery volumes.
Supplier development and stakeholder management
· Identify and source strategic recovery areas, new collectors, agencies, and supplier partners aligned to regional growth priorities.
· Develop viable new cullet sources from initial identification through implementation, activation, and early performance monitoring.
· Establish long-term, sustainable supplier relationships that support reliable volume growth and operational continuity.
· Liaise with key stakeholders, including local authorities, community councils, collectors, agencies, and internal departments.
· Manage stakeholder relationships to remove barriers, unlock recovery opportunities, and sustain regional collection performance.
Regional collection infrastructure and activation
· Establish fit-for-purpose infrastructure for glass collection across the designated region.
· Stimulate cullet growth through targeted promotional campaigns, supplier engagement, and community activation initiatives.
· Operate within the appointed provinces while aligning infrastructure, campaigns, and supplier activity to regional recovery priorities.
Job functions and responsibilities could change depending on business requirements

· Valid Driver’s License
· Reliable Vehicle.
· Willing to travel as per regions set out (estimate split is 30% Gauteng and the balance to other Inland regions)
· Must be comfortable with public speaking, presentation and group training
· Any Sales, Marketing, Logistics or Management Accounting Qualifications will be beneficial
