Production Supervisor (Night Shift)
Location: Alrode, Alberton
Salary: R22 000 – R24 000 Basic per month + Overtime
About the OpportunityA well-established manufacturing company based in Alrode is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor (Night Shift) to oversee production operations within a fast-paced plastics manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, efficiency and staff performance. Candidates with previous experience within the plastic extrusion or plastics manufacturing industry will be given preference.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise all production activities during the night shift.
Ensure production schedules and daily targets are achieved.
Monitor machine performance and ensure maximum operational efficiency.
Coordinate machine set-ups, changeovers and production start-ups.
Identify and resolve production issues to minimise downtime.
Supervise and support extrusion operators and production staff.
Train, mentor and develop production employees.
Ensure products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
Conduct routine quality checks and address non-conformances.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout the production area.
Monitor material usage and minimise waste.
Complete production reports, shift handovers and related documentation.
Liaise with maintenance regarding equipment breakdowns and preventative maintenance.
Promote teamwork, discipline and a positive working environment.
Minimum RequirementsGrade 12 (Matric).
Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Production Supervisor within a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience within the plastic extrusion, plastics manufacturing or polymer processing industry is highly advantageous.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Experience supervising production operators on shift.
Sound understanding of production planning and manufacturing processes.
Ability to troubleshoot production issues and improve efficiencies.
Good understanding of quality systems and Health & Safety legislation.
Computer literate (MS Office).
Able to work permanent night shift and overtime when required.
