Duties:
Lead, mentor, and develop the external sales team across South Africa.
Drive the development and execution of sales strategies tailored to the underground mining market.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with major mining houses
Engage directly with mine engineers, maintenance teams, and technical decision-makers to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions.
Develop accurate annual budgets and sales forecasts aligned with customer purchasing cycles.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and emerging mining operations.
Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
Support the preparation of technical proposals and impactful customer presentations.
Collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure delivery of customer requirements.
Travel extensively to mining operations across South Africa to maintain strong client relationships and identify new opportunities.
Requirements:
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Proven track record in the mining or industrial sectors.
Strong commercial acumen with excellent forecasting, strategic planning, and negotiation skills.
Leadership and management capabilities, with experience guiding diverse teams.
Exceptional relationship management abilities.
Familiarity with the South African underground mining landscape.
Experience working with technical sales and complex proposals.
