This opportunity is suited to a payroll professional who understands that payroll is not just processing; it’s compliance, accuracy, risk management and trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring payroll integrity while supporting finance and HR in a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full payroll function from input to finalisation
- Process monthly payroll accurately and timeously for a large employee base
- Ensure correct calculation of salaries, overtime, benefits and deductions
- Oversee statutory compliance including PAYE, UIF, SDL and IRP5 submissions
- Perform payroll reconciliations and ensure balance sheet accuracy
- Resolve payroll queries and liaise with HR and finance teams
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity
- Support audits and year-end payroll processes
- Identify and implement payroll process improvements
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Minimum 5+ years’ payroll administration experience
- Proven experience handling high-volume payrolls
- Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience working on recognised payroll systems (essential)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
