Job Summary
In order to be considered the following is required:
- BCom (Honours) or equivalent post graduate finance qualification
- Professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) preferred
- 5+ years of experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting, ideally within FMCG or manufacturing
- Strong experience in financial operations, reporting, and supply chain finance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Financial Software and Excel
- Knowledge of FMCG dynamics (high volume, low margin, fast turnover)
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication
- Management experience
- Strong finance reporting experience
- Strong understanding of working capital and cost management
- Operational stock and manufacturing experience
- Shared services – intercompany knowledge
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
- Working capital improvements (DSO, DPO, inventory turnover)
- Cost savings and margin improvements
- Forecast accuracy
- Process efficiency and automation gains
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the company's financial records are accurate and up-to-date and that all financial transactions are correctly recorded and documented
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practice
- Full financial reporting function which includes preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end packs
- Create and monitor annual budgets and forecasts and provide regular updates to EXCO
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that financial goals are aligned with overall business objectives
- Manage the company's cash flow and ensure that funds are correctly allocated and invested
- Assisting with the maintenance and review of financial controls on an ongoing basis
- Implement, develop and maintain an accurate administrative system of accounting records regarding cash controls, VAT payments, budget reports
- Responsible for Tax, VAT, PAYE, IT14SD and AD Valorem Tax Reporting, submission and compliance
- Responsible for foreign exchange control
- Management of the full B-BBEE process across the business
- Lead audits and liaise with auditors (internal / external)
- Manage the cashbook / finance team
- Management of payment deadlines and review of all payments
- Liaise with creditors and collections teams
- Fixed asset management
- Review journals and review balance sheet recons
- KPI and Payroll Management
- Ad hoc finance duties as and when need
