Job Summary
The successful incumbent will be responsible for responsible for selling and promoting new electric motors. Quote customers on the supply of electric motors, gearboxes, and VSD.
Position Summary:
Achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and market penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the company products and/or related services. Personally contact and secure new business accounts/customers.
Major Responsibilities:
- Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segments, to generate new business for the organization’s products/services.
- Make telephone calls and in person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
- Research of market segments & territories, in a view to identify prospective customers and their potential.
- Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
- Coordinate sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
- Create and manages a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value
- Identify advantages and compare organization’s product/services.
- Plan and organize personal sales strategy by maximizing the return of time investment for the territory/segment.
- Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical areas.
- Participate in trade shows and conventions.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Monthly and weekly reports on sales,
- Checking orders and booking reports to ensure all invoices has been done.
- Follow up of all enquiries and quotations.
- Familiarize yourself with the IT operating system
Customer Service
- Handling telephonic enquiries.
- Providing product information to existing and potential customers.
- Providing verbal and typed quotations to customers.
- Following up on quotations.
- Entering of sales order on our operating system.
- Compiling of documentation required for projects and tenders.
- Arranging and attending of sales events.
- Updating quote schedule on daily basis.
- Forwarding order acknowledgement to customers and sales representatives.
- Follow up on all weekly back orders and promises kept.
- Focused on reducing the slow moving stock in the branch.
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
- Minimum Qualification – Matric – Technical and or Mechanical qualification is seen as an added advantage
- Three Year experience within a similar market.
- Client driven
- Demonstrate aptitude for problem-solving.
- Ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
- Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.
- Must have market knowledge of the market and customer base in the identified area.
- Valid driver’s license
Travel
- Work predominantly outside the office
- Extensive traveling
- Required to visit customers limited in the beginning.
- Works normal hours
- After hour and weekend standby required
- Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.
- Attends and participates in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession.
- Position may require out of town travel.
