Our client in the steel manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced Technical Buyer to join their Procurement and Supply Chain team.
Grade 12 (Matric)
National Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field
Minimum 5 years' experience in technical purchasing or procurement
Experience in manufacturing, engineering, mining, steel, or heavy industrial environments
Experience sourcing engineering spares, technical equipment, and maintenance materials
ERP systems experience (SAP, Syspro, Sage, Oracle, or similar)
Key responsibilities:
Sourcing and procurement of engineering spares and technical equipment
Supplier negotiation and relationship management
Interpretation of technical specifications and drawings
Inventory and materials planning support
Cost-saving initiatives and procurement analysis
Expediting critical orders to support plant operations
