Our client is seeking to appoint an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Stock Controller to join their Finance team, based in Epping 2.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of inventory records, supporting accurate financial reporting, strengthening stock controls and partnering with operational teams to optimise inventory management across the business.
Primary Responsibilities
• Manage and reconcile inventory records between physical stock counts and ERP/accounting systems
• Investigate stock variances, adjustments, write-offs and inventory discrepancies
• Support regular stock counts, cycle counts and year-end inventory audits
• Prepare and analyse inventory valuation reports in line with accounting standards
• Track manufacturing, production and stock-related costs, including cost of goods sold
• Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, damaged or excess stock and provide reporting to management
• Maintain accurate stock accounting records, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Work closely with Warehouse, Procurement, Production and Finance teams to improve stock control
• Support internal controls around inventory movement, receiving, issuing and stock adjustments
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis related to inventory and production
• Provide stock reports and variance analysis to management and Divisional Finance
• Engage with auditors and support audit requirements relating to inventory balances
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve stock accuracy and support operational efficiency
• Ensure compliance with company inventory policies, financial controls and audit requirements
Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 3–5 years' experience in inventory accounting and stock control
• Experience working with ERP systems (JDE or similar) is preferable
• Experience within a manufacturing environment will be advantageous
• Advanced Excel is essential
