Situated adjacent to the renowned Welgevonden Game Reserve, this exclusive Safari destination offers guests unforgettable Big 5 experiences, luxury accommodation, and personalised Hospitality in one of South Africa's most sought-after wildlife regions. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic Field Guide who enjoys creating memorable guest experiences while sharing their knowledge and passion for wildlife, conservation, and the African bush. The successful candidate will conduct Big 5 game drives within Welgevonden, guide nature activities on the lodge property, host guests throughout their stay, and assist with additional guest experiences such as stargazing, bush talks, birding activities, and children's educational activities. The ideal Field Guide will be entertaining, personable, and comfortable interacting with international guests while maintaining the highest standards of Safari guiding and Hospitality . Candidates with strong knowledge of the Waterberg region, wildlife interpretation skills, and the ability to upsell guest experiences will be highly regarded. Job Requirements FGASA Field Guide Qualification CATHSSETA Certificate NDT Registration Valid Driver's License Valid PDP Valid First Aid Certification Minimum 2-4 years' experience as a Guide within a Big 5 Safari environment Strong guest hosting and Hospitality skills Fluent in Afrikaans, Dutch, or Flemish (non-negotiable) Strong guest interaction and communication skills Waterberg ecology, flora, and fauna knowledge advantageous Maintenance and basic mechanical skills beneficial Clear criminal record and contactable references Own transport preferred or a reliable transport plan required South African citizen or valid work authorisation holder Package Salary: R8,000 - R10,000 per month depending on experience Private accommodation with own bathroom and kitchenette Lunch and dinner provided during duty periods Water and electricity included Uniform provided (excluding footwear) Direct guest gratuities retained by guides 15 days annual leave per year Remote live-in bush environment Career growth within a luxury Lodge operation Start Date: ASAP / To Be Confirmed
