Role Overview
We are looking for a highly driven Client Acquisition & Sales Specialist to support a Visiting Angels home care office in the United States.
This is a sales-focused role for someone with a proven ability to convert qualified leads into paying clients. The successful candidate will take ownership of prospective client enquiries from the initial conversation through to conversion — understanding the family's needs, positioning the value of the service, confidently handling objections, following up consistently, and ultimately closing the sale.
We are looking for someone who is commercially driven, persuasive and confident in asking for the business. You should be comfortable working towards sales and conversion targets and be able to demonstrate a strong track record of achieving measurable sales results.
Because prospective clients are often families navigating difficult or emotional care decisions, the ability to build trust and communicate with empathy remains essential. However, this is not a general customer service or retail sales position. We are specifically looking for candidates with strong consultative, inside sales, telesales, lead conversion or other target-driven sales experience where closing business was a core responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls from prospective clients and family members
- Build trust and rapport with seniors and family decision-makers
- Ask thoughtful questions to understand the family's situation, needs, concerns, and urgency
- Conduct initial client intakes and accurately gather required information
- Clearly and confidently explain the company's services, care options, process, and value proposition
- Help prospective clients understand which services may best fit their needs
- Handle objections and concerns professionally, including questions around cost, timing, services, and whether home care is the right solution
- Respond to hesitation in an empathetic but confident manner and help families work through their concerns
- Consistently follow up with leads who are not ready to make an immediate decision
- Recognize buying signals and opportunities to move the conversation forward
- Confidently ask for the business and appropriate next step
- Help convert qualified inquiries into onboarded clients
- Maintain accurate lead, intake, and follow-up documentation
- Coordinate closely with the U.S.-based office team throughout the intake and onboarding process
- Provide additional administrative and client communication support as required
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate should have:
- Proven experience in a target-driven sales environment, with a strong track record of achieving or exceeding individual sales and conversion targets
- Strong closing ability and confidence taking a prospective client from initial enquiry through to a clear decision
- Demonstrated experience handling objections, overcoming hesitation and confidently asking for the business
- Strong consultative and relationship-based sales skills, with the ability to identify a client's needs and position the right solution
- A commercially driven and results-focused mindset, with a genuine motivation to convert opportunities into new clients
- Excellent spoken English and an exceptional, confident phone presence
- Strong ability to explain services, value and benefits clearly and persuasively
- Excellent questioning and active listening skills, with the ability to uncover needs, urgency and decision-making factors
- Persistent and disciplined follow-up habits, with the confidence to re-engage prospects who are not ready to make an immediate decision
- Ability to recognize buying signals and know when and how to move a conversation toward the close
- Ability to build trust and credibility quickly over the phone
- A warm, empathetic and reassuring communication style, particularly when speaking with seniors and families navigating difficult care decisions
- Strong organization, CRM/documentation and pipeline management skills
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of results and collaborate closely with a U.S.-based team
