We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and results-driven Workshop Manager to lead our workshop operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all workshop contracts and fabrication jobs, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and project deadlines are consistently achieved while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Workshop Manager role.
Proven experience within the Structural Steel, Steel Fabrication, Construction, or SMPP (Structural, Mechanical, Platework and Piping) industry.
Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and SMPP workshop operations.
Excellent planning, scheduling, and organisational skills.
Proficient in compiling and submitting production, progress, and management reports.
Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
Ability to manage multiple contracts and fabrication jobs simultaneously.
Adaptable, proactive, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Valid driver's licence.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all day-to-day workshop operations, personnel, and production activities.
Manage all workshop contracts and fabrication jobs from commencement through to completion.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate fabrication activities to ensure all contractual deadlines and project milestones are met.
Allocate labour, equipment, and materials effectively to maximise productivity and efficiency.
Ensure all fabrication work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.
Monitor production progress and proactively address any delays or operational challenges.
Liaise with Project Managers, Clients, Site Teams, and Suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly production and progress reports.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, quality standards, and health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Lead, mentor, and motivate workshop personnel to achieve high performance, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Drive operational excellence through effective planning, quality control, cost management, and resource utilisation.
