This luxury 5-star boutique hotel & spa set against the majestic Stellenbosch Mountains offers 52 individually styled rooms and suites, including Premier rooms, Garden suites, Mountain View suites, and Poolside rooms. With four food & beverage outlets the hotel also offers intimate wedding and function facilities, a luxury spa, multiple swimming pools, landscaped indigenous gardens and tranquil courtyards. ProStaffSelect are in search of a highly organised FACILITIES & MAINTENANCE MANAGER to manage all maintenance operations, including maintaining the building, grounds and physical plant with particular attention to safety, security and asset protection. The Maintenance Manager is accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation, and for maintaining regulatory requirements, leading the emergency response team for all facility issues. The Maintenance Manager oversees the physical plant, equipment, and infrastructure of a hotel to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for guests and staff. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Matric (Grade 12) plus a trade qualification or degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field. Experience: 3 to 7 years of hands-on maintenance and facilities management experience, in a hotel or commercial hospitality environment. Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, irrigation, HVAC, mechanical, and building management systems. Soft Skills: Calm under pressure, strong problem-solving abilities, leadership, and clear communication. · Computer Proficiency : Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office. Communication : Excellent communication & team building skills to delegate and control teams Organisation: Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills Key Responsibilities Property & Infrastructure Upkeep: Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces regularly to identify issues and ensure compliance with building codes. Preventative Maintenance: Manage and improve routine servicing schedules for HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, plumbing, and electrical grids. Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and schedule maintenance technicians, handymen, and external vendors. Project & Contractor Management: Plan and execute renovation or repair projects while minimizing disruption to hotel guests. Budget & Cost Control: Monitor operating expenses, negotiate vendor contracts, and find energy-saving efficiencies. Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain adherence to fire, health, and occupational safety regulations, responding swiftly to emergencies like power outages.
