Job Summary
Our client, a well-established footwear manufacturer and distributor, is seeking a hands-on Warehouse & Distribution Manager to oversee the daily operations of its finished goods warehouse.
The successful candidate will be responsible for inventory accuracy, warehouse operations, order fulfilment, dispatch, staff management, and ensuring customer and retail orders are delivered accurately and on time.
Duties include:
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the finished goods warehouse.
- Ensure accurate receiving, storage, and movement of stock.
- Maintain inventory integrity through cycle counts, stock audits, and discrepancy investigations.
- Oversee order fulfilment, packing, and dispatch activities.
- Ensure compliance with retailer requirements relating to packing, labelling, and documentation.
- Lead, train, and manage warehouse and dispatch staff.
- Monitor warehouse KPIs and prepare operational reports.
- Drive continuous improvement in warehouse processes, efficiency, and cost control.
- Support the development of future e-commerce fulfilment operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in warehouse, logistics, distribution, or inventory management.
- Previous supervisory or management experience within a warehouse environment.
- Strong stock control and inventory management experience.
- Experience managing warehouse teams and daily operations.
- Computer literacy with ERP, inventory, or warehouse management systems.
- Valid driver's licence.
Preferred Background
Experience within footwear, apparel, retail, FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution environments will be highly advantageous, as will exposure to retailer compliance requirements and e-commerce fulfilment operations.
