Functional Head Infrastructure development and Maintenance
Job purpose: The Functional Head of Infrastructure and Maintenance direct an organization's physical assets, operations, and facilities. The role ensures that all assets operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
Primary Functions
Develop and execute long-term infrastructure strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Create frameworks, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for asset lifecycles and maintenance protocols.
Oversee both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive/Emergency Maintenance programs.
Manage the upkeep of facilities, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, and structural elements.
Prepare, manage, and monitor departmental capital and operational budgets.
Review and authorize invoices, track expenses, and identify cost-saving initiatives.
Source, negotiate, and oversee third-party contractors and service-level agreements (SLAs).
Monitor contractor performance to ensure work meets quality standards and regulatory compliance.
Ensure all infrastructure and maintenance activities comply with OHSA requirements
Conduct regular site safety inspections and manage risk mitigation protocols.
Appointment requirements
A degree in Facilities Management (FM) or equivalent.
5 years’ experience in leading maintenance teams for large properties
Extensive knowledge in repairs of buildings, roads, electrical infrastructure, HVAC systems.
Registration with SAFMA or equivalent.
