We are seeking a dedicated, reliable and experienced individual to join our team as a Hands-On Facilities, Maintenance Handyman and Gardener. Requirements: Matric , valid drivers licence and 5 year experience in a similar role . Certificate in facilities management, horticulture and/or Agriculture. Skills in landscaping, gardening , painting , tiling, electrics, plumbing , irrigation , woodworking is essentially required . Computer literacy with Microsoft Office . Own transport ideal. South African Citizen or a valid work permit . Requirements In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility maintenance of buildings and gardens, including repairs, painting, tile laying, upgrades, and improvements. You will also be responsible for inventory . This is a hands on position and requires meticulous upkeep of the gardens , henhouse and that all maintenance and upkeep tasks are efficiently and timeously completed to an exceptional high standard. Strong knowledge of seasonal planting , building systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead and manage a team effectively. Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Knowledge of safety regulations and practices. Reliable , professional with contactable reference . Must reside in Paarl or close surrounds . Responsibilities: Facility Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning and safety of all equipment, systems, and facilities. This includes pool and HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, building structures, and grounds. Cleaning if sheds and workspaces including garages , equipment and vehicles by weekly. Repairs and Upgrades: Coordinate and perform repairs and upgrades as needed, including troubleshooting issues, ordering necessary parts and supplies, and completing repairs in a timely manner. This may include fixing mechanical equipment, repairing electrical systems, or addressing plumbing issues. Team Management: Lead a team if required , providing guidance, training, and support. Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure that all work is completed according to established standards and timelines. Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to minimize equipment downtime and reduce the risk of costly repairs. Create schedules, perform regular inspections, and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities. Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair services. Obtain quotes, negotiate contracts, and ensure that work is completed to the required standards. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines. Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take appropriate corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment. Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the facilities and maintenance budget. Track expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend improvements to optimize Gardening: Daily cleaning of flower beds, patios, pools area, surrounds. Window and external polishing and cleaning if all lights externally and drains . Weekly mowing of grass beds . Spraying and maintaining vines and vegetable and herb gardens . Seasonal planting and harvesting. The role is vital to vital ensuring the smooth operation of our gardens and facilities.
