ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER | CAPE TOWN | PASTRY Voted the best ice cream parlour in the world, we are a passionate, fast-moving artisanal producer of dairy, vegan, and sorbet ice cream — and we’re growing. We’re looking for an exceptional Assistant Production Manager to support our production operations and help us keep the magic running behind the scenes. The Role This is a hands-on, floor-level leadership role. You’ll work closely with the Production Manager across all sections of our kitchen and production facility — jumping in wherever needed, keeping things moving, and holding the team to our uncompromising standards of quality, safety, and consistency. This is primarily a Monday to Friday day shift position. During peak season, occasional Saturday work may be required. What you will be doing • Supporting day-to-day production operations across all sections • Managing ordering, stock, and stock control with accuracy and foresight • Enforcing and maintaining Health & Safety compliance across the production environment — non-negotiable • Assisting with scheduling, team coordination, and workflow management • Rolling up your sleeves and getting hands-on when the team needs it What we need from you • A formal H&S qualification OR demonstrable, serious, proven experience managing Health & Safety in a food production environment — this is an absolute requirement, please do not apply without it • A pastry qualification — equally non-negotiable, you need to understand the craft at a technical level • Proven experience in stock management and ordering • The ability to work comfortably across multiple sections, switching gears when needed • Strong communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset • Calm under pressure, organised, and a genuine team player who cares about quality To apply Send your CV, proof of qualifications, your salary expectations, and a short note on why this role is the right fit for you to:
