Where You'll Make an Impact:
Develop and oversee high school academic work plans focusing on English and non-STEM subjects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Research, map, and enhance the school-based academic ecosystem, integrating external and online programmes that meet scholar needs.
Design targeted interventions, including tutoring, online initiatives, and external opportunities to boost scholar performance.
Lead the planning and implementation of non-STEM academic support for Grade 7 preparatory programmes.
Develop assessment methodologies and tools for English and other subjects, supporting data-driven curriculum improvements.
Facilitate workshops, assessments, and orientation programmes to ensure smooth scholar transitions and academic preparedness.
Build and maintain strong relationships with school partners, including principals, academic heads, and support staff.
Monitor and evaluate all non-STEM academic interventions, providing oversight and strategic adjustments.
Duties:
Collaborate on content and sessions for high school transition and academic support.
Lead the development and marking of English assessments for Grade 6 applicants.
Contribute to the selection process for potential scholars.
Manage relationships with school-based and external programme partners.
Provide continuous support and feedback to improve curriculum and intervention strategies.
Requirements:
Relevant postgraduate qualification in Education or a related field, preferably with a specialization in English.
A minimum of 5 years of high school English teaching experience.
Proven experience designing and implementing academic interventions and assessment methodologies.
Deep understanding of the South African educational system and socio-cultural diversity.
Multilingual abilities in Xhosa and Afrikaans are advantageous.
Strong stakeholder management, reporting, and documentation skills.
Familiarity with the following:
Education sector tools and strategies
Student assessment and curriculum development
Programme coordination and project management
