A well-established and respected tyre retail and service business in Mthatha is seeking an experienced and hands-on Shop Manager to lead its operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader with strong automotive or retail management experience who is passionate about customer service, operational excellence, and driving business performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day operations of the tyre shop, ensuring efficient workflows and excellent service delivery.
Lead, supervise, schedule, and develop the shop team to maximise productivity and performance.
Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving enquiries and complaints professionally.
Oversee tyre fitting, balancing, wheel alignment, and related workshop services to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Drive sales growth by promoting tyres, services, and value-added products.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Manage inventory, stock levels, stock rotation, and product displays.
Ensure workshop equipment and tools are properly maintained and operational.
Monitor daily cash handling, expenses, and financial performance.
Prepare regular reports on sales, stock, and operational performance.
Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Support local marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns to increase customer traffic and sales.
Minimum RequirementsProven management experience within the automotive, tyre, or retail industry.
Previous experience managing a tyre fitment centre or automotive service workshop will be highly advantageous.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Sound knowledge of tyre products, fitment services, and industry practices.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience managing stock, budgets, and sales performance.
Good financial and business acumen.
Knowledge of health and safety requirements within an automotive environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
