IT Technician

Position Overview
We are recruiting an IT Technician based in Paarl to provide technical assistance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and support network connectivity. The successful candidate will manage helpdesk tickets, assist with system maintenance, and collaborate with senior IT staff on more complex technical tasks.
Key Responsibilities

Administer network and data security, including Active Directory, Group Policy, firewalls, antivirus protection, VoIP, and email security.

Perform data backups to ensure client data is securely stored and recoverable.

Install and implement network system upgrades and improvements.

Install and configure wireless networking equipment.

Install and maintain network cabling.

Monitor servers, LAN/WAN, VoIP, and Wi-Fi systems to ensure optimal performance and coverage.

Assist with the design, implementation, and support of new software, hardware, and system features.

Diagnose and resolve connectivity, hardware, and software issues.

Respond to IT-related issues involving hardware, software, networking, and system maintenance.

Provide helpdesk and technical support by phone, remote access, or on-site visits.

Troubleshoot and resolve system errors.

Set up equipment for new users and employees.

Consult with vendors and clients to integrate and update company technology.

Ensure optimal performance and utilisation of all technology resources.

Maintain and manage the IT asset register.
Technical Knowledge & Experience
-
In-depth knowledge of UniFi products.
-
In-depth knowledge of analogue and IP CCTV systems.
-
Experience troubleshooting issues and installing third-party applications.
