The Bid Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of the Request for Quotation (RFQ) and Request for Tender (RFT) process. This involves coordinating with internal stakeholders across sales, finance, legal, and operations to deliver timely and compelling bids to customers.
The Ideal Candidate:
ESSENTIAL: 3-5 years of freight forwarding experience
ESSENTIAL: A minimum of 2 years of experience specifically in RFQ/Bid Management
ESSENTIAL: Strong working knowledge across transport modes, operations, transit times, international trade routes, and pricing methodology (e.g., FCL, oversized cargo, AOG)
Strong decision-making, leadership, and communication skills
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the RFQ/RFT process from pre-bid identification to post-bid debriefing
Coordinate and manage all stakeholders involved in a bid, ensuring a cohesive and high-quality response
Develop and implement a robust bid management strategy, proactively identifying opportunities in the pipeline
Work closely with product teams on pricing, finance, legal, and sales to secure approvals for bids
Utilize project management skills to ensure all bid components are completed and delivered on time
Provide post-bid analysis and reporting on hit rates, trends, and opportunities for improvement
