Job Summary
A leading South African financial services group that provides direct-to-consumer insurance, investment, and value-added solutions is seeking a Senior Application Developer who will translate business requirements into scalable, robust software solutions.Responsibilities:
Software Delivery & Architecture: Design, build, test, and support full-stack web solutions and RESTful APIs, adhering to enterprise architectural standards and quality metrics.
Requirements & Estimation: Partner with Business Analysts to define functional and non-functional requirements; break down and accurately estimate development tasks.
Risk & Quality Management: Identify, own, and mitigate technical risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a technical subject matter expert, provide guidance and code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
Agile Collaboration: Work closely with IT Managers, project teams, and business stakeholders within an Agile delivery framework.
Education: Degree, diploma, or relevant professional certification in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience: 8+ years of full-lifecycle software development experience.
Methodology: Strong experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
Industry Experience: Prior experience in the Insurance industry (beneficial).
Core Stack: C#, .NET Core / .NET 6+, SQL Server, Blazor, HTML5, CSS.
Web & APIs: Web solution architecture, RESTful API design, and integration.
Quality & Automation: Unit testing frameworks and DevOps automation/CI/CD pipelines (beneficial).

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical abilities with a proactive approach to risk mitigation and decision-making.
